A crypto prepaid card is loaded with funds in advance — you top it up from your crypto, and spend down the balance. It behaves like a gift card or a prepaid Visa/Mastercard rather than drawing live from an account. Below are the crypto prepaid cards we track.

Why choose a prepaid crypto card
Prepaid cards appeal for two reasons: control (you can only spend what you have loaded, which caps your exposure) and simpler onboarding in some regions. They are popular for travel and for keeping day-to-day spending separate from a main wallet.
The trade-offs
- Top-up fees. Loading the card can carry a fee (a percentage of the amount) — check this, since it applies every time you reload.
- Dormancy/inactivity fees. Some prepaid cards charge if you stop using them. We flag these where issuers disclose them.
- Reloadable vs single-load. Most modern crypto prepaid cards are reloadable; confirm before you commit.
We weight the real cost of loading and spending heavily in our scoring. Compare two prepaid cards side by side with the comparison tool.
